Google was started in September 1998 by two friends named Larry Page and Sergey Brin while they were doing Ph.D. at Stanford University in California. 

When I first heard about Google I learned that a ‘google’ was a number with one hundred zeros after it. There is probably a mythology around why a certain company selected that for a name. It looks totally different among others putting its strong image on the minds of everyone. It has now become the necessity of our lives, if we need any information, we have a satisfaction in our mind that if google is there then we can search for our query in its search engine and will get the reply. There is a lot of confusion about if Google has a full form or it is just a word created by the founder of Google. Officially Google has not a full form. It is taken out from a word “googol” which means a large number. The word “googol” represents a number that is 1 followed by series of 100 zeros.

Google is the product of Google Inc. which is a US based Multinational Company. At present, it is a highly used search engine specialized in Internet related services and products. Its main functional areas are Online advertising technology, cloud computing, search engines and software. Apart from this, Google is the most used search engine all over the world.

Google offered us large number of applications which are very useful like google docs, google worksheets, google drive, Google meetings, Adwords, Adsense, Youtube, Gmail and many more.

Some experts and websites claiming that the google stands for “Global Organization of Oriented Group Language of Earth”.   

I also want to add one more definition of google is that “Google” is a misspelled word, googol is a real word, but it’s rarely used in mathematics. How many of us have seen or used this word in mathematics? When written in decimal notation, it’s the digit 1 followed by 100 zeroes. The number is mostly used to compare very large quantities.

As we all know that google is a widely used search engine but do you know who it was first created by two students doing Ph.d of Stanford University. Their names are Larry Page and Sergey Bin. They have created their search engine as a part of their project in 1996 and named this search engine as “Backrub”.

Later on they have realized that “backrup” is not a relevant name for their search engine, as they have created their search engine to return large amount of information so they chose to name the company after a really large number known as googol which they have registered with the domain name of “Google”. After that we all know that how google has made its position and currently rule over every search engines in India and abroad.

It is known as “Google” only and gogal spelling is written as “GOOGLE” founded by two friends of Stanford University in 1996.
